The Day Nursery opened in its present form in April 1990. It is housed in a purpose-built centre which is situated on the corner of the Infant School building at the heart of Hatfield Peverel village. The Nursery is open from 8:00am until 5:00pm on weekdays. Full day care and sessional care is available on all days. Sessional care is available from 9:00am until 11:30am and 12:30pm until 3:00pm. We also run sessions before school 8:00am until 9:00am and after school 3:00pm until 5:00pm. Lunchtime sessions are available from 11:30am until 12:30pm and the price of these sessions includes a cooked lunch. There is a pre-school group. This runs from 9:00am until 11:30am within the Nursery. This aids smooth transition into school life. We work in close liaison with the school to promote the continuity of the Early Learning Goals through the Foundation Stage. Subject to the availability of places, children will be accepted from the age of 2 years. Places are limited and parents are asked to give written notice one month prior to a child leaving. A nursery place is reserved for a whole term, and allowances cannot be made for casual absence, family holidays etc in calculating the fee. The government funds children the term after their third birthday for 15 hours a week for 38 weeks a year. These weeks are in line with the local school term.
We are inspected
by Ofsted who look at the safety, care and educational program provided. In
our recent inspection they found 6 areas of outstanding practice. Please
see our complete report following the link at the top of the page.
