The Nursery is open from
8am until 6pm Monday to Friday all year round. There are a variety of sessions.
There is a choice of whether a child attends for the 51 weeks or term time
only, subject to availability. The nursery operates on two floors with our
youngest children on the ground floor and the older children on the upper
floor. The children are supplied with a hot meal at lunch time. For children
who attend the early morning session a breakfast is provided and if a child
attends the late session then tea is also provided. These meals are all included
in the fees. Subject to availability children will be accepted from the age
of 2 years. The government funds children the term after their third birthday
for 15 hours a week for 38 weeks a year these sessions an be taken flexibly
over 38 or 51 weeks.

Training
The Nursery is
involved with an on going research program named 'The Effective Early Learning
Research Project'. This has allowed us to evaluate and improve our setting,
and it also acts as system of quality control. We also belong to the Pre-school
Learning Alliance, which insures we are in contact with new thinking in the
field of education and care. At the Nurseries are placements for students
from the local colleges and students studying N.V.Q levels 2,3,4 and 5 in
Childcare and Education this enables the staff to keep in touch with the new
developments in this field.
