Our approach to early years care
Wickham Bishops Nursery creates a welcoming environment where children feel secure, valued, and encouraged to learn through play and everyday experiences. We offer full-day care on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, with flexible morning, afternoon, and lunchtime sessions. Friday afternoons are reserved for children in the year before starting school, subject to availability. Please read our privacy notice to understand how we protect your information.

Supporting families through every stage
Wickham Bishops Nursery helps families access the childcare options available to them. Government-funded places are available from the term after a child's third birthday for 15 hours each week across 38 weeks of the year, with additional funding for eligible three and four-year-olds.
We also accept funding for qualifying two-year-olds. Children learn through play in a supportive environment, while close links with local schools help provide continuity throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our high standards are reflected through regular Ofsted inspections. Contact us to find out more about funding and available places.
Funding options

15 hours funding
Eligible working families can also access 15 hours of funding for children aged 9 months to 2 years, starting from the term after they turn 9 months old.
All 3 & 4-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare from the term after their 3rd birthday.

30 hours funding
From September 2025, 30-hour funding will be available for eligible working parents of children from 9 months old, starting from the term after they turn 9 months.
From September 2025, eligible working parents of 2-year-olds can also access 30 hours of funding
Working families with 3 & 4-year-olds may be eligible for 30 hours of funded childcare per week.

All-year-round funding
All funded hours are stretched over 51 weeks, as we close for one week over Christmas and New Year. This allows families to evenly distribute their hours across the year, rather than being limited to school term dates. See www.beststartinlife.gov.uk for further information.
